This blog often concerns itself with the dispelling of myths about geoscientists, about what we do, who we are, what kind of shoes Kelly wears. Some stereotypes are true, and one of those stereotypes relates to beer. Of course, such stereotypes do not relate to all geoscientists, there are many who prefer a nice glass of white wine for instance. But on the whole, this one is pretty accurate.

Well I’m a marine biogeochemist, therefore I drink anything.

Very good video, I think most geologists will always sample the local beverage – Scotch in Scotland, Pisco Sour in Peru, Cabernet Sauvignon in the Coonawarra or even the bland local beer in the outback Australian pub (Toohey’s New has never tasted as good as it did at the Silverton Pub on a third Year mapping trip). I look forward to trying the local brews in Montreal in a fortnight.
